Cars 2 Premiere: A closer look at Finn, Holley and Rod

Cars 2, which opens on Friday, stands to be one of the top box-office hits of the summer. Many of our favorite characters are back, such as Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater, but there are also a bunch of new rides rolling onto the big screen. Some, like Grem the Gremlin and Acer the Pacer, take obvious inspiration from real cars.

The Jaguar E-Type is 50 If there is one car that defines a generation – and its maker – it’s the Jaguar E-Type. Launched to an astonished public in 1961, the E-Type Jag offered the promise of 150mph performance, all wrapped up in a body so glorious even Enzo Ferrari was moved to call it “The most beautiful car in the World”. The E-Type stayed in production for 14 years, from the very first 3.8 litre flat-floor cars (a pain to drive) right the way through to the automatic V12 E-Types of 1974, which BLMC couldn’t give away.

Qoros set to unveil two concepts in Geneva

Qoros has announced it will showcase two concepts alongside its first production car, the GQ3 compact sedan, at this year's Geneva motor show. The Cross Hybrid Concept and Estate Concept preview future Qoros designs and technologies and are both based on the same platform as the GQ3. The two also feature the same signature design cues, developed under the direction of executive director of design, Gert Hildebrand.
