BMW launches i sub-brand

BMW yesterday revealed one of the more significant mobility plans since the inception of the automobile: the BMW i sub-brand. The new brand seeks to integrate sustainable elements with a slew of powerful technology whilst simultaneously improving mobility across both private and public platforms. The first vehicles will be launched in 2013.

Drive the Polo R WRC as VW Rally the World Volkswagen have already made the most of their entry in to the World Rally Championships this year with the Polo R WRC – apart from the fact it’s created a 4WD platform for the Polo/A1 in the process – with a street version of the Polo R WRC (although not in the UK). But VW’s adventure in to WRC with the Polo R hasn’t just been about a bit of product development and a spun-off road version – they’ve taken it very seriously. So seriously have VW taken WRC – and so well prepared were they – that Sebastian Ogier has already taken the 2013 drivers gong in WRC (from the previous – long term – incumbent Sebastian Loeb) with three races left, in his 315bhp, 4WD Polo R, and VW look set to take the team title too.

British Grand Prix 2014: Result The 2014 British Grand Prix at Silverstone was all set up for a cracking race with the Williams and Ferraris at the back of the grid after calling the rain wrongly in qualifying and Lewis Hamilton in sixth after his own bad judgement on the state of the track. Hamilton moved from sixth to fourth at the start – and Button up to second – but the first lap saw a heavy crash by Kimi Raikkonen – collecting Felipe Massa in a near head-on in the process – bringing proceedings to an abrupt halt.
