Students prepare for Coventry University's annual degree show

Students of Coventry University's Automotive and Transport Design course are getting ready for their annual degree show, dubbed ‘Discover ID'. Already the largest show in Europe, this year's exhibition will be the biggest ever, with 107 BA and MDes students showcasing their design talents. Aside from automotive projects, the exhibition will feature projects including two full-size motorcycles, a Rolls-Royce yacht, a Pacific cruise airship and arctic tourism vehicles.

Tony Cervone, a top spokesman for General Motors as it battled bankruptcy rumors and won U.S. rescue loans, is leaving the automaker. Cervone, 46, will join UAL Corp., parent of United Airlines, as chief communications officer and senior vice president, United said in a statement on Wednesday.

Students from the Transportation Design Masters program at Spain's Elisava School of Design presented their work in the 2005 Degree Show entitled 'Real Transportation', held in October at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona. This was the sixth edition of the Transportation Design Masters course. The projects by this year's students aimed to bring creative solutions to real transport issues, while taking into account aspects such as mobility, aerodynamics, environmental impact, ergonomics, legislation, materials, production, security, technology and aesthetic principles.
