New Donkervoort D8 GTO Dutch firm Donkervoort has revealed their D8 GTO with an Audi 2.5 litre 5-pot engine with up to 400hp and a 0-60mph of 3 seconds. Dutch maker of bonkers cars, Jooop Donkervoort, has unleashed his new, lightweight and totally impractical car – the Donkervoort D8 GTO – after what seems an age of development. And thanks to a close working relationship with Audi, the D8 GTO pretty much lives up to its cheeky GTO moniker.

Ford eyes dandelions as sustainable alternative to synthetic rubber

Ford, in conjunction with Ohio State University, is turning to the humble garden weed as sustainable resource, researching the dandelion's potential use as an alternative to synthetic rubber. While the automaker already makes considerable use of sustainable materials in its vehicles – such as soy foam seat cushions and straw-filled plastic for interior trim – this latest discovery opens up a wealth of new possibilities for automotive applications. According to research conducted by Ford, a milky-white substance that is found in certain dandelion roots can produce a sustainable rubber that could be used to create plastic parts for vehicle interiors.

Chris Evans’ CarFest North and CarFest South are back on again in 2013 with much motoring madness and a great day out for all the family. So much success in 2012 meant CarFest for 2013 was a given, and now we know that both outings are back once again this year with even more on offer than in 2012, and running over 3 days instead of two.
