Designed to handle the demands of extreme-lift camshafts operating at prolonged, high-rpm use at championship-level racing, Skunk2’s Pro Series Valve Springs for Honda’s K-series VTEC engines are simply the best. Pro Series Valve Springs have been tested at speeds as high as 11,000 rpm on both the engine dyno and the street and our superior, Japanese-milled, super-clean chrome silicone wire is 100-percent eddy-current inspected prior to coiling and then heat-treated, shot-peened, and chemically polished for strength and durability. A special nitriding process concludes Skunk2’s rigorous manufacturing process. The end result is a lightweight valve spring that safely accommodates high-lift camshafts and features superior resistance to load loss, even under extreme operating conditions.

Skunk2 designs, develops, and tests its entire valvetrain lineup in-house to ensure superior quality and maximum performance gains. During development, each valvetrain component is tested both on the dyno and the road, including 11,000 rpm drag racing engines and 17,000 rpm superbikes. The course has a strong international presence, with students from Brazil, Belgium, China, Taiwan, Finland and Australia among this year's graduates and this contributed to the wide variety of work on display.

Toyota's Prius family could continue to grow, literally, as the automaker studies an additional version of the popular hybrid that carries three rows of seats. The three-row Prius would not be the same vehicle as the Prius Alpha sold in Japan, which basically crams a third row of seats into the cargo area of the five-seat Prius V to be sold in the United States starting this fall. To the contrary, this potential Prius would be large enough to hold seven people as well as their stuff, said Bob Carter, Toyota Division general manager.
