SMITHS 12V Electric Fuel Pick Up Switching Valve & Illuminated Switch

Has 2 different Lengths of nylon pick-up tubes that go down into the gas tank
When there is no electrical signal on the valve it picks up fuel through both tubes.
When the fuel level gets down to the first (or the shorter) fuel supply tube, the engine will falter or stall.
The 12V supply switch is turned on, and the engine will get an extra gallon or so of gas in order to drive to the gas station.
When 12 volts is supplied to the Valve, it switches to pick up fuel using only the longer tube at the bottom of the tank.
Comes with the correct illuminated switch- Bulb in center of knob lights up when in "Reserve Mode"
The old VW's, and Porsches used a mechanical valve that was turned with a rod that switched to the "lower straw" for some fuel reserve.

It's 510 Again!

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Any sports or sporty car driver worth their gear oil will remember the mighty Datsun 510 - the front-engine, rear-drive coupe, sedan and wagon that gave racers on a budget something that was just as fun to pilot as BMWs and Alfas of the day. From 1968 to 1973 you could have as much fun as any of those guys with fancy European rides. While a little more boxy than its competitors, the 510 was nonetheless nimble and extraordinarily fun to drive.

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 28 August 2014 13:26 Jaguar design chief Ian Callum often references the Jag Mk2. And for good reason; it set the tempo for sports saloons and was an influential forebear of modern hot-rods such as the XFR. So it should come as no surprise that Callum has teamed up a Jaguar specialist to build his own modern Mk2 homage.
