Jaguar XF Diesel S Bares its Claws
Mon, 29 Dec 2008Jaguar XF Diesel S - more power, less fuel We all know how many problems the world’s car makers are having at the moment, and unless central banks ensure normal lending resumes very quickly we’ll all be in a big hole without a shovel. But when you look at what some of the best car manufacturers now have to offer we should be queueing at their door, and finance companies should be bending over backwards to lend. Jay Leno gives us the lowdown on his McLaren P1 (video)
Tue, 13 May 2014Jay Leno drives his new McLaren P1 Jay Leno has no shortage of cars to play with in his collection, but if this video of Jay and his new McLaren P1 is anything to go by, the P1 is his favourite car by far (at least for now). Jay meets up with McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt at his garage and there’s plenty of chat about what makes the P1 special, and how it compares to the legendary McLaren F1 (a car Jay also owns). Then it’s time for a drive out in the P1, first with Mike Flewitt as a passenger and then with Jay on his own as he takes the P1 round the winding roads near his home, and Jay reveals that he put nearly 900 miles on the clock in the first five days he had the P1.
Electric cars amped up with £500 million boost
Tue, 29 Apr 2014THE GOVERNMENT is to extend the £5,000 grant scheme open to anyone who buys a car with plug-in electric power. It is part of a £500 million move to encourage car owners – and city authorities – to take up the electric car baton and run with it. The initiative will give cities a chance to win government funding to further the sales of electric cars in their areas, for example by allowing them to use bus lanes or park for free.
