New York City Taxi of Tomorrow plans hit a roadblock
Thu, 10 Oct 2013New York City administration's plan to replace current taxi cabs with the specially developed Nissan Taxi of Tomorrow has been stymied by a recent legal decision, the Wall Street Journal is reporting. The New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan (it's a bit confusing, but this is actually the on the level of the lowest state courts in New York state's court system) has issued a decision which determined the project to be an overreach of executive authority, siding with taxi magnate Evgeny Freidman and the Greater New York Taxi Association. The court stated that city's Taxi and Limousine Commission lacked the authority to compel cab companies to purchase the any particular vehicle -- in this case, the Nissan NV200 Taxi, which was slated to hit streets just a couple weeks from now on Oct.
2010 BMW 7 Series updates: 740d, M-Sports & X-Drive
Fri, 26 Jun 2009BMW has added a new diesel to the 7 Series Range for 2010 - the BMW 740d BMW has confirmed the M Sports Package will be available for the first time on the BMW 7 Series, and will be an option across the entire range. So you can now have the front and rear aprons; carbon black paintwork; 19″ M wheels; BMW Dynamic Drive; aluminium trim; M Gear Lever etc., etc. The latest BMW 7 Series is a handsome car once more, and these M-Sport options do seem to add a certain aggression to its stance – not a bad thing.
Holden will sell cars in Australia beyond 2017
Mon, 23 Dec 2013When we heard about Holden's plans to shutter its Australian plants after 2017, we didn't know quite what to think. The General Motors subsidiary was cagey when it came to details, claiming that the brand would remain a presence in Australia -- even maintaining its design office there. Oddly, we couldn't get anyone to say, in black-and-white terms, what vehicles would be sold there under the Holden name after its plants close.
