And that was about it for the Czech marque this year; 2008 is a bit of a slow period for Skoda, before the product onslaught begins in earnest next year. With its new nose and tail bringing it into line with the new Superb, the Skoda Octavia now has much needed visual presence.
European car sales down 5.2%
Tue, 17 Sep 2013EUROPEAN UNION car sales are still sagging despite the return of modest economic growth. For the first eight months of the year, passenger car sales were down 5.2% to 7.84 million compared with the same period last year, the European Auto Manufacturers' Association said - the lowest January-August figure since the group started keeping records in 1990. New car registrations in August fell five per cent from a year ago to 653,872.
CDN announces second edition of Car Design Glossary
Mon, 01 Sep 2008Car Design New has now published the second edition of the Car Design Glossary. Designed to enable budding designers - and those wishing to describe the products of the designer's imagination - to decipher the language used in automotive studios, the Glossary was devised by David Browne, Course Director of Automotive Design at Coventry University School of Art & Design. He created the compilation of terms as an academic piece of research and collaborated with CDN to help generate feedback on these terms from designers themselves.
