2013 Audi RS6 Avant: 190mph & 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds
Wed, 05 Dec 2012The 2013 Audi RS6 Avant has been revealed with a V8 552bhp Twin Scroll Turbo delivering 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and up to 190mph. The 2013 Audi RS6 Avant comes with a 552bhp version of the twin-scroll V8 found in the latest, most powerful Audis (and the Bentley Continental GT V8) which, despite being 28bhp down on the power of the old V10 RS6 (although it does have 37lb/ft more torque – 516lb/ft) can get to 62mph in a supercar-bashing 3.9 seconds and, in standard guise, 155mph. But spend more than the £77k Audi will want for the new RS6 Avant by opting for the Dynamic Package and top speed increases to 174mph.
Ken Block & Mini-Me – the Video
Sun, 06 Sep 2009Ken Block & Rob Dyrdek Driving & Drifting The last report we did on Ken Block was after he delighted Top Gear’s James May with his antics in California, but now we have what can probably best be described as a comic teaser for what will be his next big video outing – Gymkhana 3.0. In this video – dubbed Gymkhana 2.1 – Ken Block gets a new sidekick – professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek – who takes to a ‘Mini-Me’ kart version of Ken’s WRX Subaru in a playful drifting and playing game. The video is full of amusing comparisons, but just in case you don’t get it’s supposed to be funny we get treated to the Benny Hill theme tune – you know, the one where Benny gets chased in quick-time by a bunch of be-stockinged lovelies.
Shelby brings back ‘Shelby American' name for performance-car business
Tue, 15 Dec 2009Carroll Shelby's performance-car business is returning to its roots. Shelby Automobiles is changing its name to Shelby American--the original banner used by his sports-car business and the historic Le Mans-winning cars in the 1960s. Shelby says the switch is in honor of the 45th anniversary of two of his most famous cars, the 427 Cobra and the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350.
