This is a Snap-on Super VL Auto-Dimming Welding Helmet. It is used but still in excellent condition. On the outside there is one area about the size of a penny that has a tiny nick and a little touch up paint on it. The nick is only a speck but the paint around it is about the size of a penny, it looks like there was something black underneath of the paint (see pics). The Auto dimming panel is removable and works off 2 AAA batteries and I just put new ones in it which will be included. The lenses are all in great shape with just very minor cloth scratches from being cleaned. There aren't any previous owner marks and this item is super clean with an adjustable head strap. Please look closely at all of the photos before bidding and decide the condition for yourself. I only ship within the U.S.. Please pay within 3 days from auctions end, by Paypal only. Thank you and good luck.

BMW i and Wallpaper* Megacity project

Fri, 19 Aug 2011

BMW i and Wallpaper* magazine have joined forces for ‘Sustainable Neighborhoods', a global project exploring how design and technology will serve in keeping megacities of the future moving. Students teams from each of the six chosen neighborhoods – from Los Angeles, Paris, London, Hangzhou, Berlin and Tokyo – have been tasked by the two companies, and their school course, to research their nearest megacity for a suitable case study to act as a catalyst for creative thinking about how short term cultural and technological evolution will have an impact on the way we live tomorrow. A series of workshops and in-depth discussions took place with students, tutors and members of BMW's global design team to examine the evolution of cities and research six different city zones, with the aim of defining a new infrastructural, cultural or social project that will scale seamlessly into the future.

First Fisker Karma in the UK auctioned for £140k

Thu, 13 Oct 2011

First Fisker Karma in the UK auctioned for charity The extended range Fisker Karma arrived at last year’s Paris motor show, and now the very first Karma to arrive in the UK has been auctioned in aid of charity and raised a bid of £140,000 at the Pratham UK Gala held at Camden’s Roundhouse. The altruism demonstrated by offering appealing cars for charity auctions is to be commended, especially from a young - and relatively impoverished - outfit like Henrik Fisker’s eponymous company. Yes, there’s a bit of publicity to be garnered for the Karma, but good on Henrik for offering up the first Karma to charity.

Continental developing experimental semiautonomous vehicle

Mon, 26 Mar 2012

A vehicle that drives itself has been a fantasy for many drivers since they encountered their first traffic jam. While a fully autonomous car is not quite here, Continental—yes, the same company that makes tires—has an experimental semiautonomous vehicle that will eclipse the magical 10,000-miles-on-road mark this month. Its unassuming Volkswagen Passat is fitted with a plethora of safety and technology systems that the company has been developing and tweaking over the course of the project.
