That should make the next Honda Civic Type R not only a lot quicker than the last Type R, but its power will be accessible much lower down the rev range and economy and emissions will be much improved.

Tyre maker Bridgestone has announced plans to have its AirFree concept tyre installed on road-going cars within three to five years. It looks almost identical to the Prologue Hybrid 4 concept unveiled at the 2008 Paris motor show and, significantly, the production 3008 will be Peugeot’s first hybrid vehicle. It also features a head-up display and a Land Rover Terrain Response-rivalling Grip Control system.
