Associated Press Thefts of catalytic converters from cars have more than doubled in less than three years, according to an investigation by the BBC. Data compiled from 40 police regions across the UK reveal that in 2012 a total of 8,947 catalytic converters thefts were reported, compared to 3,957 similar cases recorded in 2010. Audi to build cars in North America

Audi AG has decided to build a vehicle-assembly plant in North America and is considering an additional engine and transmission plant. Volkswagen Group's premium brand is completing details of the assembly plant--including models, location and capacity. Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said all decisions will be made within three years.

A new site claims IKEA is about to launch a car - on the 1st April! [ad#ad-1] The latest silly site to go (semi) viral online this week purports to be teasing a new car from IKEA, that hell of  a flat-pack, windowless, clockless shopping experience where the only instructions you get for assembling your insane purchase are a set of pictures on a big sheet of paper, that seemingly have no resemblance to the contents of the package you’ve been stupefied in to buying. Now on the face of it this is perhaps plausible.
