The Volvo V70 gets a bit of added butch with the launch of the V70 R-Design The last news we had from Volvo was that the S60 & XC60 R-Design were going to get more get up and go. Sadly, the extra oomph was reserved for the US. Today’s news, however, applies to Volvos on both sides of the Pond, with a new top-end S80 being revealed – the Volvo S80 Executive – and a butch take on the V70 – the Volvo V70 R-Design.

Nissan has unveiled initial details of its new Note at a world premiere held at the Osanbashi venue in Yokohama. The B-segment MPV's exterior features a number of familiar Nissan design characteristics, including the combined grille/lamp DRG and 'squash line' side eature line, first seen on Pivo 3 concept. The project was led by product chief designer, Atsushi Maeda.

You couldn't swing a camshaft without hitting a Corvette at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Chevy was celebrating, in no particular order: the 60th anniversary of its iconic sports car; the rolling unveiling of the new C7 Stingray; the first-ever public peek at the C7R race car; an almost-unprecedented gathering of great Corvette race cars from all eras; and a ginormous gathering of the Corvette faithful tearing around the track in all models of screaming, roaring American muscleVettes, few with silenced exhausts and many emblazoned with all or part of the American flag. Is this a great country or what?
