The next Porsche Cayman (new Cayman GTS pictured) will get a 4-Cylinder turbo
We already know that the new Porsche Macan will be getting 4-Cylinder VW engines later this year as Porsche looks for a lower entry-level point for the Macan, but it’s not just the Macan going the 4-Cylinder route. Porsche boss, Matthias Mueller, has confirmed to Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport Magazine that Porsche are preparing new 4-cylinder turbo engines for the Cayman and Boxster – but not engines from VW. Instead, Porsche will be lopping two cylinders off the Boxer engine to create a new 4-Cylinder Boxer engine with power outputs up to 395bhp.

-- Not many car reviews feature a shot-for-shot remake of "Goodfellas." (We're still banking on Ford's re-introduction of the Crown Victoria for a shot-for-shot remake of Beastie Boys' "Sabotage.") Matt Farah of the Smoking Tire did for its review of the Cadillac CTS V-Sport, which took four days to shoot and six to edit, and probably three more to steal the dolly cam from Scorsese's basement. -- You might not remember the Saturn Pioneer, but back in 1979, "the new marque Saturn was developed to play on the increased attention to astronomy NASA's deep space probes were generating," writes automotive historian/inveterate liar Jason Torchinsky. One of GM's many H-Body cars, the Pioneer -- named after the probe, not the Probe -- carried an innovative version of GM's venerable "Iron Duke": it had both a carburetor and throttle-body fuel injection, which undoubtedly added needless complexity that could have better served the real Rocket Division, Oldsmobile.

The Nissan 370Z Nismo – a titivated and fettled 370Z – has finally arrived for the UK and Europe and will debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Nissan has fettled the 370Z Nismo for European roads and tastes and, although there’s a bit more power, the focus is on driver fun. That means the 370Z Nismo comes only with a six-speed manual gearbox and only as a coupe to keep things nice and stiff and keep the driver involved.
