Audi reveals A7 and S7 redesign for Europe

Audi revealed the redesigned A7 and S7 luxury fastback sedans in Europe on Friday. The cars get a sharper look all around and a revised powertrain lineup. The A7/S7 now has a single-frame grille, new bumpers, tailpipes and headlights.

Actually, whether to keep Maybach on the Daimler life support system is a question that has taxed the brains of many a Mercedes exec,  almost since the Maybach brand got its revival under Mercedes and turned in to a cross between a stretched old S-Class, a Playstation and a glitterball. On the official combined fuel cycle it manages 159g/km and 41.5mpg, a big improvement on the Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid’s 34.3mpg and 193g/km, and comfortably ahead of the best non-hybrid Porsche, the PDK-equipped Cayman (31mpg and 214g/km CO2). The new Porsche Panamera S Hybrid will be unveiled at the 2011 Geneva motor show in March.
