Alfa Romeo has no plans to export the Giulietta to North America

Alfisti, control yourselves: There are no plans right now to bring the sultry Alfa Romeo Giulietta to North America. In the wake of numerous sometimes conflicting reports circulating about the hot hat hatch's future, we wanted a straight answer from Torino. This is what we got: “There are no plans at present to export the Alfa Romeo Giulietta to the North American market,” Richard Gadeselli, vice president of communications for Fiat Group Automobiles SpA, wrote in an e-mail to AutoWeek.

New MINI Paceman highlighted on video

With the production version of the MINI Paceman now revealed, MINI has produced a couple of videos to show off its new Coupe. The new MINI Paceman, the Coupe version of the MINI Countryman and MINI’s answer to the Range Rover Evoque, was revealed earlier this week before heading off to thye 2012 Paris Motor Show. Who's Where: Martin Smith to retire, succeeded by Joel Piaskowski as Ford Europe head of design

Martin Smith, head of Ford of Europe design for the last 10 years, will retire at the end of this year, before which he will work on a project to study the future direction of the company's global design direction. He will be replaced by current head of strategic concepts group, Joel Piaskowski on 1 July. Smith (64) first joined Ford back in 2004, leaving General Motors as director of design for Opel/Vauxhall.
