And if they do manage to bring the Model S in at their target price point they will probably be on to a winner. Even if you turn that $50k in to £50,000 the Model S will still be offering a huge amount of – very innovative – car for the money, and will have the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class and Jaguar XF in its sights.
GM envisions future city car with EN-V concepts
Wed, 24 Mar 2010The city car of the future will seat two people, run on electric power and communicate with other vehicles to reach a destination faster while automatically avoiding traffic tie-ups and crashes. General Motors, working with electric-scooter maker Segway, has developed three concepts tailored toward that vision of future transportation. The Electric Networked Vehicle, or EN-V, concepts go on display May 1 at the World Expo in Shanghai.

Thu, 03 Jul 2014By Tom Clarkson Motoring Issues 03 July 2014 11:00 1948 Silverstone’s transformation from a World War II bomber station into a race circuit began in August 1948, when the Royal Automobile Club took out a one-year lease on RAF Silverstone. Under the stewardship of local farmer James Wilson Brown, the RAC International Grand Prix was staged on 2 October, using similar regulations to those that shaped pre-war grand prix racing. The track layout comprised the airbase’s perimeter roads, with straw bales and ropes protecting the piggery and the crops in the middle of the circuit.
