Description

This Solo Exhaust kit is classed as a “moderate muscle” performance exhaust kit. It has almost no drone and a wonderful smooth exhaust note. This in our opinion will probably be the “kit for most G8 owners”. It has more sound than the Mach-Balanced and of course the difference is that the G8 Mach has no balance pipe in the front section. It has a wonderful mid range exhaust note and as one test driver said smiling “you just want to accelerate…Wow!”

It uses Solo’s 14” Mach Muffler and J-pipes, stainless steel polished muffler (inside and out) and polished stainless steel staggered dual exhaust tips. mandrel bent exhaust pipe.

1-10 scale… 1 being stock quiet and 10 being rockin’ noisy

Overall note outside cabin is a 5.
Overall inside cabin exhaust note 3.5

The G8 Mach exhaust kit has a meaner sound compared to the G8 Mach-Balanced. While the G8 Mach-Balanced has a tasteful exhaust note the G8 Mach exhaust kit has that ‘American Muscle” flavour. The exhaust note throughout the spectrum never even hints at raspy or ricey only a deep, full, smooth and mean sound would characterize the exhaust note outside the cabin. Inside the cabin it remains refined and tasteful.

8cyl to 4cyl jump…almost inaudible.
4cyl to 8cyl jump…smooth octave change, not sharp at all.

Going up hills, if your eyes were closed you would not know you were going up a hill.

Citroen DS3 and DS3 Cabrio ‘Facelift’ revealed

Thu, 22 May 2014

Citroen DS3 and DS3 Cabrio ‘Facelift’ revealed The baby of the DS range – the Citroen DS3 – is still one of our favourite hatches, and although it’s been with us a few years it still feels current. Which perhaps explains why Citroen’s facelift of the DS3 really amounts to not much more than some new posh headlights and some technology and engine updates. The headline news is the new lighting on the DS3 (although only the DSport gets it as standard) with xenon units with an LED lighting element which, say Citroen, use 35 pe3r cent less power on dipped beam and 75 per cent less on main beam, have a 20,000 hour life (20 times that of a standard halogen bulb) and are derived from the lights on the Numero 9 and Wild Rubis Concepts.

New technology combats drowsy driving

Mon, 20 Dec 2010

Auto supplier Takata is introducing a new driver-alertness warning system to the commercial trucking industry to keep drivers awake. The SafeTrak electronic vision system sounds an alert if a trucker is driving erratically or unintentionally drifting from a lane. A recent AAA study for traffic safety found that drowsy driving is a contributing factor in 16.5 percent of fatal car crashes in the United States.

Toyota Auris to be replaced by…Toyota Corolla in 2013?

Sat, 03 Dec 2011

Toyota Auris to revert to Toyota Corolla? It’s reported that Toyota are going to drop the Auris name when the Auris gets replaced in Europe in 2013 and revert to the Toyota Corolla badge. Although Toyota are getting more adventurous with their cars, they still make a lot of ‘beige’ stuff.
