Sat, 17 Dec 2011Eterniti Hemera - updated with a new nose and more back seat space Boutique car maker Eterniti has updated their Porsche Cayenne Turbo custom job – the Eterniti Hemera – before a launch in April 2012 at Beijing, and teased an Eterniti supercar. The Eterniti Hemera first showed itself at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year after a raft of enigmatic teases about a new luxury car brand. And when it turned up it looked just like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo on which it’s based, albeit with some Gemballa-esque mods.
Volvo makes breakthrough in battery tech
Thu, 17 Oct 2013Volvo has developed a new way of ‘storing’ energy for its future electric vehicles. The Swedish firm is exploring the concept of lightweight structural energy storage components made from carbonfibre, containing “nano structured batteries and super capacitors.” This technology is said to offer a lighter, more compact solution to the problem of energy storage, potentially removing the need for the heavy, bulky batteries used in current electric vehicles. Porsche today unveils the latest in a long line of 911s and the new one heralds the arrival of Porsche’s new twin-clutch transmission (dubbed PDK) and direct-injection. Amazingly, it makes the coupe nearly as fuel efficient as a family car, nudging 30mpg.
