The image reveals little about the EV, but we expect the five-seat battery-powered car to have Ford Focus-like dimensions, thanks to its compact motor. We can also decipher that the badge hides a charging socket at the front – a neat solution that’ll make the EV easy to charge in right- and left-hand drive markets.  The introduction of Nissan’s EV comes just a week after the Japanese company unveiled plans to produce battery packs at its Sunderland plant.

Chevrolet Suburban turns 75

The Chevrolet Suburban, the longest-running nameplate in the auto industry, turned 75 this year, and Chevy held a little birthday party on Detroit's Belle Isle on Tuesday. Unless you’ve been in Motoring purdah for the whole of 2011, you’ll know that this year is the 50th anniversary of the debut of the Jaguar E-Type at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, and Jaguar are making the most of the anniversary at every step. But this time it’s not Jaguar who are making the most of the E-Type’s birthday, it’s the organisers of the 2011 Motorexpo in Canary Wharf, who’ve teamed up with the Jaguar’s Driving Club to drive fifty E-Types across London and out to Canary Wharf to kick of this year’s show.
