Survey Suggests Dangers Of Mobile Phone Abuse Is Still Underplayed

A LEADING used car warranty firm has conducted a survey to find out what the public believe to be the most dangerous driving offences. Those driver surveyed by Warrantywise believed that by far the most serious offence was driving under the influence, with 67% of respondents listing this at the top. Ranked next highest with just 10% was ignoring traffic lights and 9% using mobile devices whilst driving.

Especially since it’s claimed to be a project close to the heart of Ratan Tata – ultimately, ‘Mr Jaguar’. Ford is recalling nearly half a million vehicles to fix defects that can cause fires or loss of power. About 205,800 copies of the Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivan from the 2004 and 2005 model years are being recalled, because torque-converter output shafts in the transaxle might fail and cause power loss. Ford is also recalling 244,530 Escape SUVs from the 2001 and 2002 model years, which might have brake-fluid leaks that can cause corrosion and fire.
