Porsche Macan production starts in December

The Porsche Macan (pictured) starts production in December with a bolder look It does seem that the baby Cayenne – the new, Audi Q5 based Porsche Macan – has been on its way for a while, but Porsche has now confirmed production will start in December, with first Macans hitting Porsche showrooms in early 2014. Nissan has announced pricing for its pure-electric Leaf, which seems to be growing more popular by the hour. This time last year Nissan slashed the price of the Leaf by a whopping $6,000, sending into the sub-$30K territory, and for 2014 the price and equipment list has barely changed. The Leaf's driving range remains at 84 miles on a full charge, and the mpg-equivalent ratings stay at 126 mpge in the city and 101 mpge on the highway, for a combined rating of 114.

This time it’s the turn of the new Honda Civic Tourer with the latest 1.6 i-DTEC ‘Earth Dreams’ engine to go out and eke every possible inch of tarmac from every single drop of petrol. In the hands of Honda R&D engineers Fergal McGrath, James Warren, Tony Shiggins and Julian Warren, the Civic Tourer drove a total of 330 miles and managed to do 97.2mpg – an impressive 31.8 per cent more than the official average.
