This auction is for a 82-92 Camaro/Firebird Spohn Adjustable Torque Arm Tremec 3550/TKO/500/600 SP-320 BLACK in color.
This Standard Duty crossmember mounted torque arm kit is for installing a Tremec 3550/TKO/500/600 5 Speed transmission into a Third Generation F-Body. The kit includes the transmission crossmember required to install the Tremec 5 speed transmission, along with our crossmember mounted Standard Duty adjustable torque arm. Our kit makes the Tremec 5 speed swap an easy bolt right in installation!
If you need bullet-proof strength, serious performance, improved handling, and pavement digging traction when you're at the dragstrip, AutoX, or road racing; then you need a Spohn Performance adjustable torque arm, here's what it'll do:
- Attaches to the rear axle and controls rear end torque during acceleration, transferring this energy into the tires, increasing straight line traction
- Reduces nose-dive during braking
- Eliminates wheelhop
- Increases sidebite during corner exit acceleration
- No fabrication, welding or drilling required - 100% bolt-in installation!
- Removes the torque arm pivot point from the transmission tail shaft to the supplied transmission crossmember
- Changes the instantaneous center and leverage point from stock
- Provides adjustable pinion angle
Build Specifications:
- Constructed of 1.25" o.d. x .120" wall DOM tubing
- TIG welded 4130N chrome moly threaded tube adapters
- Extreme-duty CNC laser cut 3/8" steel rear housing mounting bracket
- Heavy-duty fabricated steel transmission crossmember with integral torque arm mounting system
- Polyurethane bushing front mount version for minimal road noise. Integral grease fitting allows for lubrication of the polyurethane bushing
- Rear of torque arm mounts to the 3/8" steel rear housing mounting bracket via two 3/4"-16 NFT x 5/8" bore x 7/8" thick solid rod ends. All Grade 8 hardware is supplied.
- Integral 4140 chrome moly pinion angle adjuster between the bottom rear rod end and the bottom rear torque arm tube allows for easy pinion angle adjustment. A simple turn of the wrench will give you over 6 degrees of pinion angle adjustment, it's that simple.
- Unique rotating front torque arm mount, this system allows the torque arm to travel fore/aft which is VERY necessary with a torque arm suspension system. Solidly mounting the front of the torque arm causes the suspension to bind and hurts your car's handling drastically. The front rotator tube has an integral grease fitting to allow for proper lubrication.
- This is a proven product being run on some of the fastest F-Bodies in the country!
- Rear mounting bracket is designed to fit on stock and/or aftermarket rear ends

11 excuses cops have already heard
Mon, 29 Apr 2013"Everyone else was doing it," and "I had to go to the bathroom" extend beyond excuses used in a kindergarten classroom -- they actually top the most common excuses drivers use to get out of a ticket. Insurance.com surveyed 500 licensed drivers age 18 and over in February 2013 to find this list of top excuses we use when getting pulled over. 20.4 percent of drivers have tried: I couldn't see the sign telling me not to do it.
Watch a Triumph Spitfire engine assemble itself
Mon, 24 Mar 2014Chris Herridge bought an engine for a Triumph Spitfire on eBay. He then proceeded to take 3,000 photos as he disassembled and rebuilt it, possibly destroying his camera but gaining a shiny new SU-equipped Triumph engine by the time he was done -- eleven months later. We get the video above despite having taken no part in the labors.
Cadillac Ciel concept
Fri, 19 Aug 2011The Cadillac Ciel concept, a four-seat convertible, has just been revealed at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. "The Ciel is about the romance of the drive," says Clay Dean, global design director of Cadillac. "It emulates the great touring cars seen on the greens at Pebble Beach, but with a modern flair that projects Cadillac's vision for the future." Interior design manager Gael Buzyn says, "Simplicity and lightness ensure nothing distracts from the open driving experience, while the color and materials lend the feeling that the vehicle's environment blends with the surroundings." The four-door Cadillac Ciel concept was developed with a long, low proportion, reminiscent of classic automobiles, while the interior features Italian olive wood, machined aluminum and hand-tipped leather.
