Hiromu Naruse: ‘Godfather’ of the LFA ‘Not Famous Enough’
Fri, 11 Feb 2011Hiromu Naruse & Lexus LFA Last year we reported the death of Hiromu Naruse, Toyota’s chief test driver and a man considered to be the ‘Godfather’ of the Japanese performance car, and particularly the Lexus LFA, a car which consumed the last decade of his life and became the final testament to his enormous skill. At 67, Naruse-san was still as involved as ever, and it was whilst driving a Lexus LFA with the Nurburgring Package he met his end on a public road near the Nurburgring. A track, incidentally, he had driven more than any other Japanese driver.
DAB radio in cars and the digital switchover
Mon, 22 Nov 2010Britain's motorists face a £1 billion+ bill to fix their car radios so they work after the digital switchover, a CAR Magazine investigation reveals. The Government plans to switch off the FM signal and move the UK's broadcasting industry to DAB digital radios - mirroring the switchover from analogue to digital televisions. The official target for the digital radio switchover is 2015, but many commentators predict that date will slip as there is a great deal of work to be done before Britain is ready.
Cadillac Presidential Limousine
Fri, 23 Jan 2009President Obama arrived at his inauguration earlier this week in a new Cadillac Presidential Limousine, which includes many of the brand's signature design elements. As the first all-new Presidential limousine since the 2004 Cadillac DTS built for President George W. Bush, the new car has roughly the same overall footprint as the previous model and similar proportions.
