TMG Sports 605 concept to debut at Essen Motor Show
Tue, 27 Nov 2012While most of us are focusing on the LA Auto Show happening later this week, Toyota Motorsport GmbH is quietly revealing the TMG Sports 650 concept at the Essen Motor Show in Germany. The TMG Sports 650 is a hopped-up, twin-turbocharged V8 version of the normally staid Lexus LS460 sedan. In the concept, power grows from 386 to an impressive 641 hp at 7,450 rpm, while torque jumps to 564 lb-ft.
Mazda MX-5 GT concept to debut at Goodwood
Tue, 26 Jun 2012Mazda will bring the Miata of our dreams to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom on June 28. The Mazda MX-5 GT concept will run in the “First Glance” class for the legendary hillclimb. Mazda says the GT concept is inspired by its MX-5 GT race program, and its debut at Goodwood is meant to gauge customer reaction to the car.

Tue, 08 May 2012Porsche has released a video featuring its Design Director, Michael Mauer, explaining how he and his team went about redesigning the 911, an ‘automotive, engineering icon' as he describes it. "What we as designers are striving to above all is to optimize the width to height ratio with the result that although the 911's width has not increased, the front axle area has become wider, and we've managed to make the roof a bit lower," Mauer explains via a rather dramatic-sounding voiceover.
