AMG plans greener, cleaner performance cars

In an exclusive CAR interview, Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach boss Volker Mornhinweg spoke candidly about the company’s future and outlined why a raft of imminent eco measures would enhance AMG’s performance capabilities rather than stifle them. ‘Of course emissions and economy are important to us at AMG – only a fool would ignore these factors today,’ said Mornhinweg (pictured).
Winners of the 'Ultimate LA Machine' Design Challenge announced
Sat, 22 Jan 2005The judges of the Los Angeles Auto Show's Design Challenge have named the Dodge Superbee and Volkswagen Mobile Lounge as joint-winners of the first ever automobile design studio competition. Designer Reto Brun of Volkswagen/Audi Design Center California said his studio considered two Los Angeles issues when designing the Volkswagen Mobile Lounge - an antidote to traffic and a better option for the area's "limo-centric" entertainment culture. Whisper-quiet fuel cell technology whisks occupants towards their destination while electronically controlled tinted glass, an open living space and innumerable in-car amenities provide a supremely comfortable environment.
College Exhibition: Munich University of Applied Sciences 'Intelligent Emotion' project
Thu, 23 Apr 2009Students at the Munich University of Applied Sciences have developed concepts in a project with Audi Design. The eleven studies to the brief of 'Intelligent Emotion', are imaginative proposals for transportation in the future, and range from a lightweight interior layout to a hybrid supercar. "The results are impressive", says Wolfgang Egger, head of Audi Group Design.
