This is one of those things I have, I have friends who donate things to me, as I have an ecletic collection of things scattered throughout my office. No ryhme or reason, just intresting objects that always provide an intresting conversation, should anyone care to ask why I have a certain object.

So, I have this tach from an airplane. I do not own an airplane, but, I suppose I own part of one, no matter how small. This tach, for as long as it stays here, on my desk, will allow me to say that.

I am letting this tach go, i think, if it gets a bid. If not, it will remain amongst my menagerie of uncorrelated objects to spark intrest in the more normal people who dare to venture into my inner sanctum.

This tach was working when removed from the airplane, I was assured of that, but I cannot test it, because I do not own the other parts of the airplane. Just this tach. So, it is being sold "as is".

I am going to write what the tach has on the face, side and back.

 The front has, from the top;

SSK Shinkokinzoku Ind. Co. L.T.D.

TOYO KEIKI

X100

RPM

TYPE DVF - II

METER 3 mA

On the side, just below the 11 (2 o clock) is a green line on the dial, and has "NOR S.". Then at 12. 25 it has a red line and says "OVER S.".

On the top side, is "SUN D8455"

The back has 2 electrical studs "A" & "B" and above that is "GAIN" an arrow to the left with "INCREASE" to the right of the arrow.

All this will be evident in the pictures.

There is all I know about this tach. I will put a tape measure in the photos so you can see the size. I hope someone can use this, maybe it will fly again.

Tue, 20 Mar 2007

By Ben Pulman Motor Industry 20 March 2007 04:54 It’s only just over a week since Aston Martin was sold, but today it confirmed plans to race at Le Mans. The DBR9 will return to the famous La Sarthe circuit in June. Perhaps this was inevitable, since Aston’s new non-executive chairman is David Richards - the chairman of Prodrive, which develops the DBR9 and its FIA GT3-spec sister car, the DBRS9.

Dakar Rally 2012 Day 3 update

Tue, 03 Jan 2012

American Robby Gordon continues to hold second place overall at the completion of day three of the 2012 Dakar. Hummer driver Gordon, vying to make up for the delays suffered on Monday, completed the 129 competitive miles between San Rafael and San Juan in the Argentine Andes with the fifth-fastest time. His teammate and defending Dakar champion Nasser Al-Attiyah was third-quickest and moves into sixth position overall, having dropped precious time on day one with a loss of oil pressure.

New Lotus Esprit still on schedule

Sun, 10 May 2009

The new Lotus Esprit - on schedule for launch in 2011 or 2012 The next Elise will probably be a development of the existing car, rather than anything radical and new. But the Esprit will be an all new V8 based on the new Evora chassis. It will be longer and wider than the Evora, but will still feature a mid-mounted engine and, in all probability, come as a convertible in time.
