Ford's young driver training proves a hit
Thu, 17 Oct 2013FORD'S new young driver training programme, dubbed Ford Driving Skills for Life, has proved an instant hit with the first two sessions being substantially oversubscribed. Over 500 applications were made for the 300 free places available at Excel in London and the Trafford Centre in Manchester, and the participants aged between 17 and 24 received tips and guidance in the controlled environment of a purpose-built track. Manchester University student, Ryan Harrison, who took part in the free driver training, said: “I’ve learned so much today, especially in the skid car, learning what I’ve done wrong in the past without realising it and where to put my hands on the wheel.
Vintage motorcycles set to take over Road America

Put on by the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association, the races run on Saturday and Sunday. They will feature motorcycles from the 1920s to the early 1970s, Superbikes from the 1970s and 1980s, and more-modern racers from the Sound of Singles, Battle of Twins and Sound of Thunder classes AHRMA is an enthusiast group that preserves the heritage of racing motorcycles through events at race circuits.
Cyclists 'revel in car-free streets'
Mon, 19 May 2014THOUSANDS of cyclists have enjoyed the chance to ride on car-free streets during a series of bike rides around the country. The Space for Cycling Big Ride saw people of all ages take to their bikes in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Sheffield. Organisers estimated 5,000 cyclists took part in the event in the capital, where 30 guided rides took place under bright sunshine.
