Bernie Ecclestone wants Saab – Spyker make new bid
Fri, 08 Jan 2010Bernie Ecclestone is behind the Genii bid for Saab I think if we tried really hard we could be doing at least one story a day on the saga that is the sale of Saab by GM. There’s no point re-hashing the history – if you read here regularly you’ll have had your fill of the story that’s more like a Soap Opera than a business deal, but if you want all the back stories just look under Saab. But not being thorough on reporting a really boring and drawn out tease is one thing, but we can’t ignore the launch of a new version of a vehicle that until quite recently was selling almost 500k a year.

Designed to be an affordable coupe – and designed in collaboration with Subaru – it looks a promising new car. But we’ve seen no real detail on the other part of the equation – the Subaru FT-86 (know internally as the 216A).
