Treasures from West Germany lurk at Sonoma Raceway
Fri, 04 Apr 2014In my role of Chief Justice of the 24 Hours of LeMons Supreme Court, I travel to Sonoma Raceway, aka Sears Point, at least twice per year. Most of the time I'm there, I'm stuck disciplining miscreant racers with incomprehensible penalties, but every so often I slip away in my Race Organizer Review car to shoot some action photos of the competitors. A good area for shooting LeMons cars is from the access road that runs parallel to the track between turn 10 and turn 11, and getting there takes me past an area of shops and garages… and I always spot some interesting cars parked there.
VL Destino revealed - what became of the Fisker Karma
Fri, 10 Jan 2014VL This is the new face of the Fisker Karma, the luxury plug-in hybrid whose parent company went to the wall last year. But it’s not only the Karma’s gap-toothed grin that’s disappeared: its plug-in hybrid powertrain has bitten the dust, too, replaced by a GM-sourced V8 – a supercharged lump boasting 638hp and 640lb ft. Called the VL Destino, the wilder Karma will be shown at this month’s North American International Auto Show, aka the Detroit Motor Show.
Fiat Centro Stile shares Panda Design sketches
Wed, 12 Oct 2011After debuting at the Frankfurt motor show, and impressing us in the process, Fiat has released a series of fun illustrations documenting the new Panda's design process. Produced by the Centro Stile Fiat, the illustrations aim to highlight and describe the new stylistic features and functions of the city car. The new Panda is said to be inspired by 'the most modern trends' and is also based on the idea that every user has their own needs.
