BMW & Toyota agree joint development of new sports car

BMW and Toyota have signed a binding agreement to co-develop a new sports car and continue with co-developed and shared technology. The way forward for car makers seems to be either to be as big as possible for the benefits of economy of scale, or to work together on joint products to cut development costs. Which is why BMW and Toyota are getting cosy.

Scottish Car of the Year 2011 Last night saw the awards dinner for the Scottish car of the Year at the Thistle in Glasgow, with Land Rover taking top honours and Jaguar walking away with three gongs (well, two gongs and the motoring equivalent of a ‘Lifetime Achievement’ trophy). The unstoppable Range Rover Evoque took the big prize, being voted the Scottish Car of the Year. Arrest made in Paul Walker Porsche parts theft

An arrest has been made in an apparent theft of a piece of the destroyed Porsche Carrera GT involved in a Saturday crash in California that killed actor Paul Walker, CNN is reporting. A number of cars had reportedly followed the tow truck that was transporting the wreckage to a police facility. When the truck stopped at a red light, the occupant of one of the vehicles, alleged to be 18-year-old Jameson Witty, ran up to the truck and retrieved a piece of the wreckage, a T-top roof panel of the red Carrera GT, He later posted a photo of it on Instagram.
