But Scotland voted No and Land Rover have revealed a new Union Jack version of the Range Rover Evoque – the Range Rover Evoque SW1. Based on the Evoque Dynamic, the Evoque SW1 comes with a choice of Firenze Red, Fuji White, Loire Blue, Santorini Black or Corris Grey paint, Fuji White roof and stripes, 20″ white alloys and – here comes the ‘Inspired by Britain’ bit – Union Jack graphics on the rear spoiler, door mirrors, gear knob on manual versions and Union Jack tags on the seats, carpets, sill plates and key and ‘RANGE ROVER’ lettering in white on the bonnet.

Volkswagen is not finished with plans to extend the Jetta portfolio. The suits inside the Wolfsburg, Germany, headquarters are mulling a plan for a crossover version of the future Jetta SportWagen along the lines of the recently introduced Alltrack concept. “We think there is definite sales potential in North America and other world markets for a new lifestyle-targeted Jetta model,” a senior Volkswagen source divulged.

But the real excitement was reserved for the new second-generation Insight, whose low price Honda believes will lure a whole new raft of buyers to hybrid motoring.  This bears about as much relation to the wild-looking Insight coupe of old as the Jazz does.
