    First Sight: BMW Zagato Coupé

    Thu, 31 May 2012

"I've been looking for a way to collaborate with Zagato and Nori [Norihiko Harada, Chief Designer Zagato] for around 20 years," explains Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design as we stand in the shadow of the magnificent Villa Erba. "Last year at this event we had a conversation and decided that it was the right time to do something." BMW and Zagato both have history associated with the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este – Europe's most glamorous car show – yet until last weekend the two illustrious names had never crossed paths. The BMW Zagato Coupé marks the first project between the two and the first Italian-designed car to wear the blue and white propeller since the 2003 Bertone Birusa.

Ferrari put LaFerrari online & live LaFerrari pictures from Geneva 2013

    Fri, 08 Mar 2013

Ferrari has put a new website up dedicated to LaFerrari with details and specifications and we have new live photos of LaFerrari from Geneva. We’ve already looked at the McLaren P1 from Geneva (it seemed only fair as LaFerrari grabbed the opening headlines at its first reveal), so, as requested by many, we’ve now got a Geneva live look at Ferrari’s new F150/F70/new Enzo – LaFerrari. The first photos we had of LaFerrari were Ferrari’s usual studio shots which told us it was glorious, but glorious on Ferrari’s terms.

Great Americans: 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

    Thu, 04 Jul 2013

The classic Dodge Challenger's most famous movie role was the 1971 box-office success "Vanishing Point." A pastiche of man vs. society, a legendary staple in classic narrative -- as exemplified by such works as "1984," "Fahrenheit 451," "Charlotte's Web," Idiocracy -- "Vanishing Point" was a movie made by those who commonly styled themselves as "auteurs," making a "film" for the corporate overlords at Warner Brothers, who just happened to land themselves some brand-new Chrysler products and ultimately went on to create, as the DVD reissue box art that I found in the $5 movie bin at Wal-Mart claims, "the ultimate car chase movie!" The movie is rife for philosophical introspection, performed as it is by Philosophy 132 majors needing to pass their Humanities requirement and who couldn't find any more copies of "American Beauty" at their local Best Buy. So, ignore the movie.
