Star Machine & Tool Co. Brake & Clutch Riveter on 2040-parts.com
Escondido, California, US
This auction is for a never used Star Machine & Tool Co. Model 80G Brake & Clutch Riveting tool exactly as shown
The Star Model 80 series is designed with a built-in hydraulic cylinder in the rivet squeezing mechanism linkage that cushions the
rivets so they are squeezed but not crushed or ruined.(It works much like the hydraulic valve tappets in automobile engines)
It is NOS (new old stock) and has been sitting in the tool room gathering dust for several years.
It is somewhat dusty and dirty and will need to be cleaned and flushed out before use
It also has some scratches and chips in the paint from being moved around in storage.
It is sold exactly as shown; only those part shown in these included picture 1 thru 8 are included with this auction
These parts include the riveting machine "C" shaped casting with all of it's internal mechanisms, as shown in pictures #1 thru 7 and,
the 12" diameter flywheel/pulley and the right side pulley guard as shown in picture # 8
Parts NOT included in this auction include; (but not limited to...)
the machine base or stand that this riveter would normally bolt on top of,
the electric motor and it's small drive pulley that would power it, (also the motor starter/stop control)
the foot pedal that mounts inside the machine base, that when depressed, triggers the riveter mechanism's dog clutch to press/squeeze the rivets,
the drive belt
the small inspection panel/cover that incloses the the machine mechanism at the bottom of picture #3 (easily made out of thin aluminum or steel sheet metal)
the various rivet dies that fit into this machine for the different sized rivets used (it accepts rivet dies with 1/2" diameter shanks)
If you do not see it included within these eight pictures it is NOT included with this auction!
If you are currently using a Star model 80 riveter, this would be an inexpensive back-up of spare parts for your Model 80, and would save you days or weeks of down time waiting for new parts

Hyundai to badge premium cars as ‘Genesis’?
Wed, 08 Feb 2012Will Hyundai's premium cars - like the Equus (pictured) - get a Genesis badge? Reports from the US say that Hyundai is considering badging their premium cars as ‘Genesis’, although there will be no Genesis ‘Brand’. The rumours that Hyundai want to move in to Lexus and Infiniti territory by creating a luxury sub-brand – Genesis being the favoured moniker – have been doing the rounds for years.

Tue, 17 Jun 2008By Ben Whitworth First Official Pictures 17 June 2008 12:08 This is the Exiga, Subaru’s rather straightlaced seven-seat people carrier, designed to bridge the gap between the current Legacy and Tribeca. Based on existing Legacy architecture, the Exiga has a long 2750mm wheelbase, and at 4750mm long, 1775mm wide and 1660mm high, it’s roughly the same size as Ford’s S-Max. There’s a choice of two engines – both 2.0-litre petrols and both flat fours.
AC Cars and Zagato launch 378 GT Zagato
Thu, 15 Mar 2012AC Cars, working in collaboration with Italian design house Zagato, has announced its new sports car, the AC 378 GT Zagato. The launch was revealed at last week's Geneva motor show, where the production version of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato – which was, in fact designed in-house by Aston Martin in the UK – was being displayed on the British carmaker's stand. The car is instantly recognizable as a Zagato-designed car, with minimalist, organic surfacing and key features such as the C-pillar/rear window crossover.
