Tue, 02 Mar 2010Audi’s A1 was only officially unveiled at the 2010 Geneva motor show, but such is the plethora of new Ingolstadt product on the way that an A1 E-tron electric concept shared the stage with the production supermini. Also on display was the new A8 Hybrid. Yes, after the R8-based concept and the R4-previewing show car, and Audi wants E-tron to become a zero emissions brand in its own right, just as the Quattro tag is inexorably linked to its four-wheel drive models.
Trevor’s Back! TVR sold to new British owner
Fri, 07 Jun 2013TVR sold to a new British owner, Les Edgar TVR – once the pride of Blackpool – effectively disappeared from the car scene in 2006 when its Russian owner, Nikolai Smolensky, shuttered up TVR just two years after he bought it from Peter Wheeler and last yeare announced there would never be another TVR. But it now seems TVR has been sold to a British businessman, Les Edgar, who has bought the rights to the TVR name and the right to manufacture parts for existing cars. So far, the only evidence of a return is a new splash page on the TVR website (pictured above) which tells us that TVR are ‘Roaring Back’.
Saab announces new China joint-venture
Mon, 16 May 2011Following on from last week's collapsed Hawtai Motor Group deal, Saab owners Spyker Cars have announced a fresh collaboration agreement today with Pang Da Automobile Trade Co, a Chinese vehicle distributor. Saab and Panda Automobile Company? Sounds Mickey Mouse to me!
