Bentley collaborates with Estede for solid gold sunglasses
Fri, 26 Aug 2011Bentley and Estede have reported that sales of the first collection of limited edition solid gold sunglasses are through the roof. Celebrating the one-year anniversary of working together, the stylish and somewhat decadent sunglasses line is designed with Bentley's dedication of luxury in mind. The modern sunglasses, created in the style of the popular aviator eyewear, are available in either 18-carat solid gold, silver palladium or platinum with the Bentley ‘B' logo embedded in the hand-polished coating, with engraved surfaces reflecting the quilted leather interior favored in Bentley cars.
Bentley SUV to get W12 engine
Mon, 10 Oct 2011The Bentley SUV will get a W12 engine option Back in July we had the talkative Bentley boss Wolfgang Dürheimer musing that Bentley will produce the ultimate luxury SUV, with plans to take the underpinnings from sister company Porsche’s Cayenne and make the most opulent SUV on the planet. The plan for a Bentley SUV has been around for a while, but the perception by car makers that big SUVs were unpalatable to the general public in these eco-obsessed times meant plans by many car makers to build an SUV were left to gather dust on the shelves. But those car makers who chose to ignore the brickbats directed at big SUVs have proved that there is big demand for luxury monsters (the Cayenne has turned in to Porsche’s biggest cash cow) and that the anti-SUV lobby was simply a very small bunch of eco-mentalists making headlines.
Motorists Still Paying A High Price At The Pumps
Fri, 17 Jan 2014THE LATEST report from the AA highlights the depressing fact that motorists continue to cough up when filling up at the pumps. According to the motoring organisation, average petrol prices at the pumps are staying "stubbornly above" 130p a litre despite discounts in many areas. While a number of fortunate motorists have been getting petrol for around 128p a litre of late, the average price nationwide is 130.46p a litre, the AA said.
