Porsche Macan 2.0 litre 4-cylinder coming to the UK – but not Europe

Fri, 02 May 2014

The Porsche Macan 2.0 litre Turbo will be available in the UK Porsche quietly revealed their first car with a 4-cylinder engine in almost a generation at the Beijing Motor Show last month with the arrival of the Porsche Macan 2.0 litre turbo, produced to mop up sale in China. China’s tax system mitigates against thirstier, bigger-engined cars, so a 2.0 litre turbo attracts tax at less than half the rate of the 3.0 litre V6 in the Macan S, so it will be the big volume model for China. But the demand from China for the 2.0 litre Macan means Porsche won’t have the capacity to build it for other left hand drive markets, so Europe won’t be getting the little-engined Macan.

Jaguar F-Type Coupe – The Videos

Sat, 14 Dec 2013

Jaguar F-Type Coupe – The Videos We had the Jaguar F-Type Coupe finally bow in at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month – including an F-Type R with 542bhp – and it does look to be the perfect Jaguar sports car. Yes, it may be a bit heavier than its aluminium underpinnings would lead you to reasonably expect, but it does look glorious – much better than the F-Type Roadster – and the F-Type R promises real performance too. When the F-Type was revealed we had plenty of photos (above) and a launch video, but what we didn’t have is any videos showing us the F-Type in detail.

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

The Hyundai ix35 Hydrogen Fuel Cell has helped kick off the EcoIslands Summit on the Isle of Wight promoting renewable energy for Islands. Maybe, now more and more car makers and suppliers are starting to lose interest in BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicles), we can look properly to future prospects for an energy source for powering the world’s cars? And none, short of cold fusion becoming a reality, offers more promise than Hydrogen, the most plentiful element in the universe.
