Sure, there’ll always be a market for its good-looking wheels and some of the other cosmetic tweaks – including interior finishings – but the handling and performance package no longer transforms the Range Rover. But they still turn up from time to time, and this E-Type Jaguar was discovered just last month by a Coys specialist in a barn in France, virtually untouched since 1974. One of the first right hand drive coupes to roll of Jaguar’s production line in 1961 – it was actually the 40th RHD E-Type – it was bought by the current seller’s estate in 1969, got a new coat of paint – a change from Grey to the current Aubergine – and driven to the family home in France in 1974, since when it’s sat under a dust sheet in a dry barn.
Which sounds better? Jaguar F-Type V8 or V6?
Wed, 31 Oct 2012Jaguar continues to keep interest in the new F-Type piqued with video comparing the sound of the V6 and V8 F-Type. The latest Jaguar marketing magic comes courtesy of a short video with a pair of F-Types pulling away and accelerating hard; one a V6 supercharged and the other a V8 supercharged. We don’t know whether the V6 is the 340PS base F-Type or the 380PS F-Type S, but it makes a fine noise.
