BMW Concept X5 eDrive hybrid set for Frankfurt motor show
Thu, 22 Aug 2013BMW is on a roll when it comes to electric-car technology, and the German automaker will be showing a new X5, dubbed the BMW Concept X5 eDrive, at the Frankfurt Motor Show in just a few weeks. The concept uses a four-cylinder gasoline engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology coupled with a 95-hp electric motor. This hybrid powerplant is coupled with BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system.
Toyota Fuel Cell Sedan
Wed, 25 Jun 2014The exterior design of the Toyota Fuel Cell Sedan has been unveiled and, much to our disappointment, it appears to be a productionized version of last year's FCV concept, a car we felt one of the least impressive of 2013 in terms of design resolution. The Fuel Cell Sedan retains the FCV's gaping lower mask gills that appear to be blanked-off in this instance. They lend the car a very aggressive, hungry face – surely a negative message for a car that majors on a technology that promises to be incredibly efficient and environmentally-friendly.
Bertone's fate to be decided at the end of April
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Bertone's most recent financial troubles have been far from secret – its no-show at the Geneva motor show confirmed our fears – but until now the company hasn't released an official statement about its situation. However the UK newspaper the Telegraph has gained access to a company spokesperson who confirmed that "the problem is many debts and very high costs. At the moment everything is blocked.
