Contrary to what was previously disclosed, Car Design News has now confirmed that Jason Castriota, who left his position at Pininfarina on the eve of the Paris Motor Show in September, is set to become Design Director at Stile Bertone. He will start his new position on December 1. Castriota had initially intended to set up his own design consultancy before being approached by Bertone.

The lowdown: XC70 Surf Rescue
Volvo is adding a touch of Baywatch glamour to the XC70, with this Surf Rescue concept car. The jacked up, yellow and red rescue vehicle was unveiled at the world's biggest aftermarket show – SEMA in Las Vegas – which starts today (Tuesday 30 October). CAR is reporting live from the show, which establishes key automotive design trends.
Hyundai are set to launch an additional model of the Velsoter Turbo to sit below the Turbo SE for around £2 less. With the regular Hyundai Veloster starting at £18k and the Velsoter Turbo at £22k, Hyundai has worked out there’s a middle ground price point – can you guess what it is? So to fill that gap (yes, it’s a £20k entry point) Hyundai are to launch the bog-standard Veloster Turbo (without the SE badge) which will lose some of the equipment but, as far as we can see, keep the butch cosmetic bits on the exterior.
