Will the top-end Mercedes S-Class models get the Maybach badge? (S63 AMG pictured) Having tried to bring the Maybach badge back from the history books and build a car to compete with Rolls Royce, Mercedes finally admitted it hadn’t worked last year and called time on their Maybach adventure. But having spent untold millions on reviving the Maybach name – and giving it public awareness – it seems Mercedes may not be prepared to shelve the Maybach name completely as there seem to be plans afoot to badge the extra long Mercede S Class with the Maybach badge.

The new Maserati Ghibli – the new, smaller version of the Quattroporte – has leaked ahead of a reveal later this week and a debut at the Shanghai Motor Show. Update: Maserati has now officially revealed the Ghibli with the same three photos we published. Apart from the information below, the only otherĀ confirmationĀ is that the new Maserati Ghibli will also be offered with the first diesel engine in a Maserati, allowing it to compete with cars like the Audi A6 and the Jaguar XF 3.0 litre Diesel S.

NHTSA investigates 2011-12 Ford Mustang for gearbox problems

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration has opened a preliminary investigation into 26,000 manual-equipped Ford Mustangs from model years 2011 to 2012, the organization said on Sunday. NHTSA has received 32 complaints of an inability to shift gears, some nearly resulting in crashes. The complaints range from the grinding of gears to the complete lockout of others.
