Volvo V40 range gets new Drive-E engines

From May this year Volvo will update its V40 model, equipping the premium Swedish hatchback with its range of high-efficiency Drive-E engines and Volvo’s latest eight-speed automatic gearbox. This means the revised V40 line-up now offers an impressive performance to efficiency ratio, with 190hp on offer in the D4 turbodiesel variant, returning a claimed 74.3mpg combined with 99g/km CO2 when mated to the six-speed manual. Mini cancels the Rocketman

Mini is suspending work on the Rocketman, the United Kingdom's Car magazine reports. The company has a load of new products debuting, but the mini Mini won't be one of them. This isn't too much of a surprise.

Bank holiday travellers face delays

DRIVERS will face congested roads as millions move off on a bank holiday weekend promising to be a mixture of sunshine and showers. The Highways Agency has completed a number of roadworks and suspended others over the holiday, but works remain on some key routes. The AA and traffic information company Trafficmaster have predicted that as many as 17 million cars could take to the roads over the weekend, with numbers swelled by a series of sporting events, music festivals and air shows.
