Audi has opened its first digital showroom in London – Audi City – a fully digital showroom for Audi’s entire range near Piccadilly Circus. It’s something of a dilemma for car makers; how to sell their cars in a world that now revolves around the internet and digital access? Traditional car showrooms seem very last century, but choosing a car from a screen at home is still something many are reluctant to do.

At the beginning of April Dacia told us that they would be offering ‘Shockingly Affordable’ prices in the UK when the Dacia Brand – Renault’s budget offering – arrives in showrooms. Now we’re at ’75 Days to Launch’ according to Dacia (although that’s just the point when Dacia reveals prices for the Duster and Sandero – cars won’t arrive until January 2013) they’ve announced that you can pre-order a new Dacia with just £100 deposit.

He talked with chief engineer Al Oppenheiser at his warehouse about what it took to add the famous name to the proud pony car. We first saw the new Camaro at the New York auto show in March.
