Monterey 2012 entered the record books not only besting all previous sales totals, but also producing some astonishing individual sales results. Although final numbers are not in, the folks at Hagerty Insurance had observers at each auction who kept a running total while every car crossed the block. I am a professional race-car driver with 30 years of experience, and I still drive for General Motors' Cadillac race team in the Pirelli World Challenge series. I also have 20 years of experience educating new drivers, parents and driver-education teachers regarding safer street driving. This apparent (to some people) contradiction of experience puts me in the position of being a bit of a sounding post.
