And justifiably so, it’s a very good car. And not just as the Jaguar XFR either (which tends to be our default setting – the most powerful V8 you can squeeze under the bonnet) which offers more aggresive looks and enormous power, but in more lowly models too.

Held in the University's School of Art and Design, the sheer number of graduates guaranteed a broad spread of projects. However, the recurring theme this year was of reinterpreting luxury in a more sustainable and socially conscious manner.

The DBR9 will return to the famous La Sarthe circuit in June. Perhaps this was inevitable, since Aston’s new non-executive chairman is David Richards - the chairman of Prodrive, which develops the DBR9 and its FIA GT3-spec sister car, the DBRS9.
