Show Review: Salon Prive 2009
Wed, 29 Jul 2009In the US, Germany and Japan, and in practically all of the world's largest economies, the streets are dominated by cars from domestic brands. Locals may not notice their patriotic automotive landscape, but visitors interested in car design tend to see the consistent aspects of each region's particular car composition - the different sizes, configurations, colors and general aesthetic. Aston Martin V12 Vantage ends & big changes afoot at Aston Martin
Sat, 04 May 2013Launched as a limited edition V12 Vantage in 2009, by 2010 Aston decided there was enough demand to make the V12 Vantage a proper part of Aston’s standard offerings, and since then it’s been the same. The V12 Vantage has also spawned a Roadster version (which, we think, stays in production – at least for now) and the slightly bonkers V12 Zagato, which conspired to look a bit too extreme for an Aston and cost an arm and a leg. We know that AM sold around 1200 V12 Vantage Coupes, around 100 V12 Vantage Roadsters and a handful of V12 Zagatos, but now the run is at an end and we do wonder if there will be a replacement?
BMW i3 & i8 EV range won’t be extended any time soon
Thu, 30 Jan 2014The BMW i3 and i8 EVs won’t get a sibling any time soon BMW have ploughed a chunk of money in to the development of the BMW i3 electric city car and the BMW i8 supercar, but it seems that is going to be the extent of the BMW i range, for now at least. BMW’s head of production, Harald Krueger, has told Automotive News that there will be no further i models until BMW has a better idea of demand for their i cars. So far, the demand looks very positive for BMW, with over 11,000 i3 EVs sold already which has led to a six month waiting list for BMW buyers looking for an electric city runaround.
