STUDEBAKER 289 ci & TH700/R4 TRANSMISSION Oil "full flow" block bored .030 over with R1 pistons, R1 reground cam, R1 cam gear, and R1 crankshaft turned .010 or .020. Rotating assembly balanced. Lower compression 58cc heads (1535976 ) used for today's gasoline. R1 HEADS WERE 54cc. NEVER INSTALLED IN CHASSIS. HAS APPROX 1 HR RUN TIME ON RUN-UP STAND FOR CAM SHAFT BREAK TIME. Engine comes with AFB carb, rebuilt power steering pump, new one wire alternator, Delco "window" dist. and A/C compressor mount brackets. All machine work done by Wayne Calvert Precision Engines in Denton, Tx.. Goggle him for his qualifications. Call him for a reference to my work ( Sam McIntyre ). I rebuilt my first Studebaker engine in 1954 or 55. This engine was to be for my last project. I built Chevy race engines for Street and Hot stocks, Modified and Sprint car classes. This engine has an adapter kit installed and dialed in for the installation of the Chevy Th700/R4 transmission. Phoenix Transmissions in Weatherford, Tx. provided this tranny. Their guarantee to me was to start the first day I drove the car. I do not know if it is transferable. Spyker B6 Concept teased for Geneva
Wed, 20 Feb 2013Spyker is teasing the B6 Concept for the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, which is probably Spyker’s take on the Porsche 911. A couple of weeks ago we reported that Victor Muller has new plans for Spyker and would be turning up at the Geneva Motor Show in March with a new concept. Now, Spyker has revealed a teaser image for the Geneva Concept – the Spyker B6 (pictured above) – which we’re assuming is the Spyker take on the Porsche 911, probably built on a shorter version of the Aileron’s platform and powered by…who knows what?
Lamborghini Gallardos recalled for fire risk
Thu, 13 Sep 2012A safety recall for 1,491 2004-2006 Gallardo coupes and spyders was handed down by Lamborghini due to a potential faulty hydraulic hose in the power steering system that could, with an ignition source, start a fire. Owners will be notified within the next month if their car is one of the potential candidates for a “Disco Inferno.”
