The Porsche 918 Spyder arrives at Pebble Beach The Porsche 918 Spyder has been on its way for quite some time, and we’ve seen it in umpteen guises from 918 Concept to 918 in disguise to 918 in Martini colours. And now we get the real deal – the production version of the 918 Spyder. But rather than a fanfare and a gazillion photos, Porsche has simply posted a single photo on Twitter to announce that the production 918 is at Montery Motor Week.

Supercars in Italy - Top Gear is back The new series (series 18) of Top Gear starts tonight with episode one a road trip in Italy with Aventador, MP4-12C and Noble M600. Will.i.am is the SIARPC. Back in November we reported that Messrs Clarkson, Hammond and May were filming for Top Gear in Italy with the Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren MP4-12C and Noble M600, and tonight that road trip features in theĀ firstĀ episode of series 18.

Opel design boss dismissed

Newly appointed Opel design boss Dave Lyon has been dismissed by parent company General Motors, less than a week before he was set to take over the position at the company's troubled European subsidiary in Russelsheim, Germany. Lyon, who was set to receive Opel's design operations from current boss Mark Adams on Aug. 1, was reportedly escorted from GM design headquarters in Michigan late last week under mysterious circumstances.
