Studebaker Speedometer (fits Silver/golden Hawk) Pn# 58oagf5 Rat Rod Hot Rod Car on 2040-parts.com
Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, US
I bought this off eBay about 2 1/2 to 3 years ago to replace my '59 LARKS speedometer but the guy listing it claimed It would fit, GUESS WHAT! !??? LOL that's right it doesn't. Fit the larks at least not the 1959-60's Larks. Not sure about the later ones?!! Hmnn anyways the chrome ring measures in at 4 1/2" diameter the body of the unit measures in at 4 1/4" so the hole this goes in is between 4 1/4" to around 4 7/8", unless you have a dress ring to prevent it from falling through.
As far as operation condition I hooked the old drill up to it ( LOW RPM) to test it and the needle rose and fell smoothly, I cannot guarantee the accuracy because I do not know the ratio at which it was designed to turn. That being said I have to sell it "AS IS!!!"
I took pictures just before listing then ran some super fine sandpaper over the pitting on the chrome and it looks liks about 80% of it will be able to be removed...possibly more????
The part number that is stamped on unit is shown in picture...no other identifiable marks were noted. See pics for condition they speak pretty well....lol!!!
Thanks for looking......NOW BID BID BIDDDDD!!!!!!! AGAIN!!! MOHAHAHAHHAA!!!!

'Speed a factor' in deadly crash
Mon, 02 Dec 2013INVESTIGATORS trying to find the cause of the crash that killed Fast And The Furious star Paul Walker say speed was a factor. Meanwhile the actor's fans erected a makeshift memorial yesterday near where the Porsche he was riding in smashed into a street light and tree. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said speed was a factor in Saturday's one-car crash, though it will take time to discover how fast the vehicle was going.
This day in Autoweek history: The 1976 Chevrolet Chevette
Wed, 21 Sep 2011Today in Autoweek history, we look back to the week of September 20, 1975, when Corey Farley gave us a look at the new 1976 Chevrolet Chevette. The B-segment (for 1976, anyway) newcomer weighed in at a scant 1,998 pounds and carried an equally lightweight MSRP of $2,899. Farley described how the Chevette handled some of the rigors of testing, which included hauling four journalists and their camera equipment around the Black Lake testing facility in Milford, Mich.
2012 Mercedes SL: Official photos arrive
Wed, 14 Dec 20112012 Mercedes SL Official Photos Today we have official photos of the 2012 Mercedes SL, thanks not to Mercedes Benz, but a German car forum. Yesterday we had the first photo of the 2012 Mercedes SL after a scan of Mercedes new SL turned up on the web. We expected that leak would galvanise Mercedes-Benz to bring forward the release of official photos of the SL a bit ( we were expecting them tomorrow), but it hasn’t so far.
